Happy Spring! Even though mother nature isn’t cooperating right now. All this rain will pay dividends over the next few weeks, as the saying goes. April showers bring May flowers. I just want to highlight some changes everyone can look forward to when you arrive this spring. For starters I’m very excited for the club to be partnering with Taylormade Golf. They have provided the club with an array of fitting equipment with interchangeable iron heads and golf shafts, as well as demos for everyone to try. So please don’t hesitate to ask to try something; you can take the demos up to the range or test against your current gamers on the golf course or even have a fitting with me. I made the switch to all Taylormade in my own set this offseason and I’m blown away with how good their clubs are. For you to see the same success that I have, it’s very important for you to get fit. That’s why we have two scheduled fitting days in June and July when a Taylormade specialist will come in and get everyone dialed in. I will be sending the link to sign up online as we get closer to those days.
The Pro Shop is fully stocked going into the season. I think many of you will be in aw when you walk in for the first time. I’m very proud of the shop this year and the team did a great job getting it ready and displayed. We have a new team member this year as well as some familiar faces returning. Diane Kletz is our newest addition to the pro shop staff this season. She is making the transition from the mountain a few days week. Samantha, Victoria, Brianna, Casey, Andy, Bill, Piper and Slade and Isabel are all returning for the season. Even though Dick is no longer with us, he is still a member of the team in spirit, so remember he is up there with his ranger flag watching you.
This Saturday we are already kicking off with our first fun event of the season, the Kentucky Derby. Heather upstairs will be running a derby pool, yes you did read that correctly, Heather is back!!! Mulligans will be staying open if we have at least 10 members willing to come participate in the festivities, so please call the shop to let us know if you plan on attending. We are currently in our Spring hours; Pro Shop is open 8 -5 seven days a week, and Mulligans will be open Wednesday – Sunday 11 -5. We will change our hours when we get to Memorial Day weekend. For those of you wondering, the driving range is open for the season, but will close Tuesdays at 3 for clean pick and reopens Wednesday late morning.
Every week I’ll be sending out a newsletter with upcoming events, a recap of events, tips, and course updates from Randy. This week he is very busy getting the course ready for all of you to enjoy, but I will say the course wintered very well and is in fantastic shape for this time of year. Now we just need a little cooperation from mother nature.
Your Golf Pro,
Jesse
