NICA New York Mountain Bike Championship Race Weekend
Windham Mountain Bike Park proudly hosts the New York Interscholastic Cycling League (NICA) Championship Race on Sunday, June 9, 2019. The race, open to middle and high school students across New York State, will take place on the UCI World Cup XC course, giving young student athletes the chance to race the same terrain many of their heroes have. Over 230 participants and their families are expected in Windham this weekend. The 2 mile course will open for a practice round on Saturday, June 8th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Race laps start at 9:00am on Sunday, June 9th. Windham Mountain Bike Park downhill terrain will remain open to the public throughout course of the event.

The New York Interscholastic Cycling League was organized in 2013 to provide competitive mountain biking programs for students in grades 9 to 12. The League is responsible for establishing a climate that will provide students with the coaching and camaraderie that will help them achieve both competitive and non-competitive cross-country mountain biking goals in a safe and enjoyable manner. With the cooperation of local race organizers, partners, and sponsors, they can provide a high quality, positive mountain racing experience to riders of any ability level. The New York High School Cycling League works to establish and maintain safe, quality high school mountain bike programs and is an official project of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association.
