Governor Cuomo has extended New York on PAUSE until at least May 29th. This continues the requirement to postpone or cancel all non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size for any reason (e.g. parties, celebrations, parades, games, meetings or other social events). We urge all Greene County residents to continue use of social distancing protocols, enhanced handwashing and use of cloth masks/face coverings when in public situations that cannot guarantee spacing precautions.
Greene County, which is part of the Capital Region, has now met the specific health-related benchmarks and criteria to begin re-opening Phase One businesses as of May 20, 2020.
Phase One: Opening May 20, 2020
Construction; Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting;
Retail (Limited to curbside or in-store pickup/drop off); Manufacturing;
and Wholesale Trade
NYS requires businesses and organizations to follow detailed industry specific guidelines and develop a safety plan to address mitigating the spread of COVID-19 that must be kept on file at business locations.
Greene County has created a special Website Repository with guidance and links to the NY Forward website, which contains NYS guidelines and business plan safety templates that should be used to be sure we meet our required metrics to continue reopening our communities and local economy.
Detailed information on what types of business is found in each of the industries allowed to reopen in Phase One can be found at https://forward.ny.gov/industries-reopening-phase.
Within each industry section, you will find a summary guideline that can be viewed and printed, a link to read and affirm detailed guidelines, and a business safety plan template that should be printed, filled out and publicly displayed.
Use the links below for the specific requirements for each industry type:
- Construction Businesses
- Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing & Hunting
- Retail Businesses
- Manufacturing
- Wholesale Trade
Greene County wants to remind you that it will be critical to remain vigilant to avoid a second outbreak as we begin the reopening process. Our region will only be allowed to proceed to the next phase after a two-week time period in which COVID-19 related cases continue to stay within the required metrics of NYS.
